Botswana

Botswana is one of Southern Africa’s most exclusive safari destinations and has varied, fascinating experiences to offer. Well-known for the Okavango Delta, the Kalahari Desert and the Chobe National Park, Botswana offers both luxury and glamping in an unspoilt wilderness filled with wildlife.

Landing at Kasane International airport you will be surprised at how quickly you go from concrete to bushveld. Just a short drive to Chobe National park where you will get your first unforgettable glimpse of the Chobe River, the park is named after this majestic river providing for the ensuing wilderness and drawing plenty of game.

The incredible and steady quantity of wildlife which is seen along the Chobe River will leave you with everlasting memories. From herds of elephants and buffalo to the pride of lion, you will frequently be stopping to observe yet another wonder of this wilderness. However, game is plentiful in the whole park and a trip down to the Savuti which has the highest density of animals and is known for its predator sightings is well worth it.

An exploration of The Kalahari Desert of the stark and dramatic landscapes and the iconic Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, with vast differences between its dry and wet seasons is not-to-be-missed. The Nxai Pan National Park is set on the Makgadikgadi basin and includes Nxai Pan, an ancient lakebed that was once part of Lake Makgadikgadi.

Also known, in the rainy season, for its amazing seasonal Zebra Migration, where huge herds, closely followed by many predators, can be seen on the open grasslands.

During the dry season, you will be treated to sightings of wildebeest, springbok, impala, gemsbok, hartebeest, giraffe, lion, cheetah, wild dog, brown hyena and bat-eared fox.

The Okavango delta, known for its Mokoro rides, motorboat cruises, game walks and drives, is a myriad of lakes and swamps dotted with fertile islands and filled with wildlife such as hippos and crocodiles and has a large and varied bird population. These floodplains are also shared by Lion, cheetah, leopard, African wild dog, large herds of elephant and buffalo. The Okavango Delta is approximately 200km long and is the largest inland delta in the world. Winding placidly down from Angola and branching out into smaller and smaller channels creeping between the mainland and the islands.
